Sadbhavna Apartments is a Cooperative Group Housing Society (CGHS) registered under the name of ‘Himhit CGHS’ in the early eighties by a group of people from Himachal Pradesh. According to the president of the Society, Jyoti Prasad, the name was changed in 2002 as ‘Sadbhawna Apartments’. “We changed the name in 2002 and chose ‘Sadbhawna’ as it shows the harmony and love of the community. Now there are people from all community and regions living together in happy harmony." Spread over an area of about 10,500 sqm, the Society has a total 160 flats. All the flats have a 3 BHK dimension with an area of 1,485 sqft each.
The Society has many facilities for the residents like round the clock water supply, power back-up, perfect security system, parks, play area, temple, and services of plumbers and electricians. It has indoor games facilities like badminton, table tennis, etc. On the green front, the Society has a well-maintained park and plantation around its boundary walls which they maintain with harvested rainwater.
The Society is just 150 metres from the Sector 21 Metro station. Rickshaws and autos are easily available near the Society for local commute. Located along a master plan road, the Society is accessible through public transport. Bus routes like ML-83, RL-77, 717 ply through the area. RTVs from Sector 9 and Sector 21 Metro stations are other options for residents.
The Society levies a maintenance charge of Rs 2,000 per month which takes care of security, common area lighting, services of electrician and plumbers. The residents have taken the initiative to keep the vicinity of the Society clean on a regular basis.
The nearest market is in front of Mount Carmel School in Sector 22 and adjacent Basava School in Sector 23. The weekly haat on Thursday and Saturday is a popular haunt for fresh vegetables and fruits at Sector 23.
