Imagine a Society with all communities living in harmony. People celebrating Id, Christmas, Lohri and Janmashtami with the same vigour. Feels like a dream, doesn't it?
Dream Apartments is exactly such a utopian Society. One of the greenest and cleanest societies in Dwarka, it was initially registered as 'ZA Nagar CGHS’. Spread over an expansive 10,500 sqm, it has a total of 155 flats in 3 and 4 BHK configurations. There are 96 flats that are 3 BHK (98.06 sqm) and 48 flats that are 4 BHK (131.59 sqm). It also has a gym inside the premises. The Society has four blocks/towers and all of the towers are earthquake resistant. It has an in-house grocery and vegetable shop. "90% of the flats are occupied of which close to 50% are tenants,” says TC Batra, Secretary of the Society.
The Cooperative Group Housing Society for the complex was formed in the early eighties. “The group was formed by a Muslim community of Zakaria Nagar and hence named ZA Nagar CGHS," says Batra. However, residents now belong to different communities. But the best part is that they participate in each other’s social and religious functions. The residents are bankers, lawyers, engineers, government officials, businessmen, senior police officers and diplomats.
All the in-house service professionals have been provided an individual insurance cover of Rs 10 lakhs each, 2 pairs of uniforms, reasonable salaries and yearly gratuity during Diwali festivals. Isn't that great? Medical camps and social functions are organised in the community hall which is also available to the residents for their personal events.
Because of its close proximity with Metro Blue Line and Airport Express at Sector 21, the Society is well connected by bus, Metro and autos. Of course, residents also use their own vehicles. The Society is at a walking distance from Sector 21 Metro station - just about 150 m away. Cycle rickshaws and auto rickshaws are easily available right outside the Society.
The Society charges Rs 2,885 per month from each household, which pays for security, common area lighting, and services of electrician and plumber. The residents have also taken the initiative to keep the vicinity of the Society green and clean. It has a huge green area (3151.341 sqm), perhaps the greenest in Dwarka, with trees and plants such as Ashoka, jamun, mangoes, jack fruit, guava, etc. The gardens are replete with seasonal flowers. The Society organises a plantation drive every rainy season.
The nearest market place is in Sector 22 and at Sector 23 in front of Basava School. Both the markets have a mall each which caters to all daily requirements of the residents. The weekly haats of Sector 23 on Thursday and Saturday are popular haunts for fresh vegetables and fruits.
About 160 cars can be parked in the vast open space within the Society. Indeed a 'dream' come true for people living in Delhi!
The security system of the Society is equipped with 16 CCTV cameras and 8 guards. A register is maintained to record entry and exit of visitors. Police verification of domestic helps and other workers for the Society is duly done.
The Society has 4 lush parks, including one main garden with rich plantation and a sumptuous green cover. There are plenty of things to do here, what with a community hall, 3 playgrounds, a badminton court, AC gym, walking tracks and a cultural club inside the Society.
