Himachali Society, Sector 3, Dwarka is a Cooperative Group Housing Society. According to the Secretary of the society Jitendra Uppal, Himachali Society was established in 1992 for which the cooperative group was formed in the early eighties the people from Himachal Pradesh.
Also known as Gauri Ganesh Society, Himachali Society has 225 flats of three bedrooms. The flats were allotted in the year 2010. Spread over in area of 3 acre the society has 6 towers of 10 floors having 38 flats in 3 tower and 37 in another 3 towers.
People from all communities live in the society and celebrate all festivals together.
Secretary of the society Jitendra Uppal says, “This society is like a village for us. People know each other by name and face. They celebrate each other’s festival with whole heart. You can say that we are an example of cultural integrity.”
A resident of the society Vikas Bhatnagar says, “I have been here for last 5 years. The best part of this society is its location and the harmony. The society is open from three sides and it has maximum part green. One can see different types of birds in our society.”
The society is located near Delhi Public School Dwarka and MRV Public School. Its proximity to Master Plan Road No 201 makes getting around convenient as one can take route numbers like 764,727,West Mudrika, auto rickshaw and other means of transport. One can even avail a rickshaw to reach the nearest Metro Station in 10 minutes.
According to the present managing committee the monthly maintenance charge for the society is Rs 2,000. Power backup and cleanliness of the society are included in the charges.
One of the most popular market, is the one around Aashirvad Chowk and the market of Raja puri, both of which are near the society. Apart from that Eros mall in Sector 14 is the nearest mall.
The Society has sufficient open parking space for upto 180 cars.
The Society has a well-managed security system equipped with 32 CCTV Camera and 8 guards. The society offers free power back up.
There are 4 parks in the Society in which one is exclusively for children. Sports facilities such as volleyball and badminton are available in the society. There is a Cycling Club inside the Society which enables people to share each other's cycles anytime they please. This eco-friendly initiative has been taken by the residents and the managing committee to promote healthy lifestyle and bonding among residents. There is a community hall and a library exclusively for senior citizens, for which residents donate books. The socuety is named after the Gauri Ganesh temple inside the premises.
