Established in 1978 under Sanjay Gandhi Yojna scheme, RWA Sector 22 is just five minutes away from the bustling 12/22 road. The Sector has 2,264 independent residential units offered on "first come and first served" basis to people belonging to three categories: MIG (Middle Income Group), LIG (Lower Income Group) and EWS
(Economically Weaker Section). Spread across 10 blocks (A-J) over an area of 100 acres, this is a large Sector no doubt, but despite the enormous size, residential units are built too close to each other to form a messy cluster. Spiritual sentiments and residential units are closely knit and it cannot be more obvious than here where as many as four temples find place within the gated area. And yes, there is a community hall too for friendly neighbours to get together for various celebrations.
The Sector is located near a lively transport hub, the 12/22 junction. Autos, buses, rickshaws are readily accessible any time of the day on the main road. However, for going inside the Sector, one will have to depend on rickshaws and private autos.
Electrician, gardener, sweeper, plumber - need their services? Make a call to one of the 5 officials who are a part of the 8-member RWA.
The Sector has its own full-fledged market. More or less every utility item is available there. Still if you like to venture out for shopping, Sector 18\'s famous Atta market is hardly far off.
The Sector has open parking facility. Residents park their vehicles either in front of their residences or park with ease in the porches. No fights here!
The gated Sector is closely manned by 3 guards. G Block main gate has digital surveillance facility as well. Since the area is quite vast and guards are limited many residents have arranged their own CCTVs and security guards.
The Sector is full of green patches. Parks are evenly distributed among the blocks so that every block has at least 2-3 parks. In spite of provisions for ample greens, it was sad to note that some of these parks and gardens are utterly neglected.
