Hundreds of angry homebuyers held a protest in front of the Parliament Street police station in Gurgaon, demanding Homestead Infrastructure Development Pvt Ltd, a builder, to return their money.

The builder had launched a project in 2015, with a promise to give possession by 2017. More than 900 buyers had booked their flats, paying varying amounts between Rs 3 lakh and Rs 20 lakh to Homestead. However, the builder failed to acquire the required licences and approvals, and work is yet to begin.

"Every time we ask the builder about the project, there is no clear answer," said Nandji Singh, a buyer. "When we visited the construction site, we were shocked to find that the work had not even started. We want our money back. I appeal to the government to intervene and help us out."

Pankaj Tiwari, another flat buyer, said, “We demand strict action against the builder. I urge Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and the Prime Minister Office (PMO) to intervene and compel the builder to return our money.”
